VaccinationsBudget Vets use a licensed vaccine protocol from Canigen. . Dogs- Primary courses Routine puppy vaccines are given at 8 weeks and 10 weeks, with one injection of DHPPi + Lepto given each time. The interval between vaccines must be no less than 2 weeks and no more than 8 weeks. In dogs over 6 months old requiring a primary course, one injection of DHPPI + L is given followed by one injection of Lepto 2-8 weeks later. Where the puppy has been given a first vaccine with another brand, the primary course should be restarted (with the exception of Nobivac vaccines, which are identical to Canigen). . Boosters Booster vaccination is necessary every 12 months. If the booster is more than 3 months late, a second Lepto vaccine should be given 2-8 weeks later. . Kennel cough This is an intranasal vaccine. Canigen KC can be given at the same time as primary or booster vaccination. Protection develops within 72 hours and duration of protection is 12 months. Clients should contact their boarding kennels to ensure they have met their vaccination requirements as these vary from one kennel to another. . Cats- Primary courses Our routine vaccine is Feligen RCP + Leucogen. These vaccines may be given separately if requested by the client. Kitten vaccines are normally given at 9 and 12 weeks. The interval between vaccines is at least 3 and no more than 4 weeks. Where a first vaccine is given with a different brand (other than Nobivac) the primary course must be restarted. . Boosters Annual boosters are required. Where the booster is more than 3 months late, the primary course should be repeated. . Rabbits Nobivac myxo- a single injection given at 6 weeks of age or older. Boosters every 6 months are recommended. . Cylap- a single injection given at 10 weeks of age or older.
